The cultural and artistic side of the work covers a deliberately wide range of formats: lectures, seminars, workshops and training programmes, publications, exhibitions, concerts and film-making.
The purpose given for that range is twofold — to improve public awareness of cultural and architectural subjects, and to keep an exchange going between different cultures rather than treating each as a closed field. A lecture reaches one kind of audience, a workshop another, and an exhibition a third; running them alongside one another is the point of the programme rather than an accident of it.
The architecture workshops described elsewhere on this site are the most fully documented example of that approach, combining theory sessions with direct visits to buildings and cities.
